The massacre at Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab, caused a wave of anger all over India, thousands of people were affected by this incident, but a child was so angry with this incident that he made it the purpose of his life to kill General Dyer. This child was Sardar Udham Singh who saw Dyer's handiwork with his own eyes, he was a witness to the murder of thousands of Indians who were besieged and killed due to the cruel order of General Dyer. On that day, Udham Singh took the soil of Jallianwala Bagh and took a pledge that he would definitely teach a lesson to General Dyer and then Governor of Punjab, Michael O'Dwyer. For this he joined the revolutionaries at a young age.

To fulfill his promise, Sardar Udham Singh went out of the country collecting donations from the revolutionaries. He traveled to many countries and raised a lot of money to fight the British government. At the same time, he kept working hard to fulfill his promise. Meanwhile, Udham Singh learned that General Dyer had died of illness before he could reach London. In such a situation, he focused his full attention on killing Michael O'Dwyer and also fulfilled his promise.

On 13 March 1940, there was a meeting of the Toil Central Asian Society in a hall in London. There Michael O'Dwyer was also one of the speakers. Udham Singh hid his revolver in a thick book that day and reached there. After the meeting, Udham Singh targeted Michael O'Diet Pat. Udham's fired bullets hit Dwyer, killing him instantly. With this Udham Singh fulfilled his promise and avenged the Jallianwala incident. Udham Singh did not try to escape from there and was arrested. He was tried and sentenced to death.
