The global pandemic Corona virus scared the whole world. The virus spread from Wuhan in China slowly spread its legs and put millions of people to sleep. In Superpower America, this virus caused the most havoc. Corona was not the first virus that caused so much destruction. Even before this, there have been many such dangerous viruses which have created panic in the world. Let us know which were those viruses.
The Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976 near the Ebola River, which is now the Democratic Republic of Congo. Since then, the virus has been infecting people from time to time. In 2014, a large number of people died due to its outbreak in West Africa. About 74 percent of the infections were from family members. Ebola is a rare but deadly virus that causes fever, body aches, and diarrhea. This sometimes causes bleeding inside and outside the body. As the virus spreads in the body, it damages the immune system and organs. The death rate of infected patients is 90 percent.
The Marburg virus was first identified in 1967. The disease was found in some monkeys in Uganda, which caused laborers in Germany to fall prey to it. Actually these monkeys were imported into Germany. Its symptoms were very similar to Ebola. Due to this, the infected person had high fever and bleeding after which the body parts went inactive. And then that person used to die. In 1998-2000, more than 80 percent of the deaths were caused by this disease.
HIV is believed to have originated from Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 1920. It has entered humans from chimpanzees. Before 1980 no one was properly aware of this disease. By 1980, HIV would have already spread to five continents (North America, South America, Europe, Africa and Australia). In this period, 100,000 to 300,000 people are already estimated to be infected. This virus is so dangerous that yet this disease is incurable. If the disease is detected at the right time, then the victim's life can be saved.
In 1980 the world was declared smallpox free. Before that humans have been battling smallpox for thousands of years. A large number of people died from smallpox. In the 20th century alone, around 300 million people died due to this.
