Punishment of Death

When the word "punishment-a-death" is called in the four walls of the court, its echo does not touch the hearts of all the people around it. However, when a person does something dangerous or disgusting, he is sentenced to "punishment-a-death" by the court. At the same time, today we are going to tell you a surprising story in which only 14-year-old child was sentenced to death.

Actually, this story has not happened today but 75 years ago in America. The most surprising thing is that the court took only 10 minutes to sentence the 14-year-old child and "punished-a-death" the child, let us tell you about this dreadful incident that happened in the year 1944. …

The child who was sentenced to death was named George Stinney. It was African-American ie Black. At that time, white people discriminated against black people because of color, due to which it is said that the decision to punish the child was one-sided because the judges whose bench ruled during this time, all white Were.

This story began on 23 March 1944. On this day George and his sister Katherine were standing outside their house. During this time, 2 girls, 11 years old Betty June Binikar and 8 year old Emma Emma came looking for a flower. Which he asked George and his sister Catherine. Due to which George went with them to help those girls and then later he returned to his home, but from there both of them disappeared.

Dead bodies of both girls

In such a situation, when the two girls started searching for the missing girls, it was known during this time that she was last seen with George. Due to which he started finding girls in the vicinity with George's father, but still could not find him. Later the two girls' lashes were found in the mud near the railway track. There was a deep injury to the head due to which both of them died.

"Wanted to build relationship with 11-year-old daughter"

At the same time, after getting the bodies of both, the police arrested George on suspicion and questioned him. After which the police told that George had confessed his crime and he had killed both the girls. According to the police, George wanted to have a relationship with 11-year-old Batty, but he could not do this when he was 8 years old, so due to this he tried to kill Mary and then both girls clashed with him. After this, George hit the two girls on the head with an iron rod, which led to their death. According to the police, the injury to both girls was so severe that they had four to five pieces of their head.

The confession was not signed

A written statement was given by the police officer, which wrote that George admitted his mistake, but it was surprising that there was no signature of George on that written statement. However, no one paid attention to it. After that, George was kept in a Columbia prison for about three months. During this time, George was not even allowed to meet his family.

14 year old child is not a minor

A jury was set up to hear George's case in just one day. The court placed lawyer Charles Plowden in defense of George. He made only one argument in defending George not to treat him like an adult, although at that time a 14-year-old child in the US was considered an adult, which led to Charles's argument being rejected.

Blacks are not allowed in the court room

Surprisingly in this case, all the judges who heard the case were white. There were more than 1 thousand people in the courtroom during the hearing, but there was not a single black in them because they were not allowed inside. In this case, 3 witnesses were presented against George by the judge's bench, in which the first was the man who found the body of the girls, the second was the doctor who did the post-mortem of both the girls. At the same time, according to the postmortem report, the two girls were not raped. At the same time, George's lawyer could not produce even 1 witness in the court.

Did not let George speak in his defense

Not only this, it was surprising in this case that even George's questions were not crosschecked in the court nor was he allowed to speak in his defense. The trial lasted for about two and a half hours and in just 10 minutes, the court convicted him and sentenced him to death. During this time, another specialty was that George was telling himself innocent, though he was not given a chance to prove it.

Painful death due to electric chair

Let us tell you that in those times people were punished with electric chair, due to which George was tied with electric chair. It is said that George was less than 5 feet in length, due to which he could not fit on the chair, due to which he was placed on the books. Some people say that the book was a Bible. At the same time, George was given a sharp electric shock of 2400 volts after sitting in this way, after which he died.

Case file reopened after 70 years

George's name is included in the youngest death sentence in America. Please tell that 70 years after George's death, in the year 2014, his case was opened again, according to which injustice was done to George. George's statements were not clear so that it was known that he had murdered both the girls, due to which he was declared innocent. Let me tell you that this case is considered a black chapter in the legal history of America, in which an innocent was given a painful sentence.
