Savitri Bai Phule - First Teacher
India's first teacher Savitri Bai Phule was born on 3 January 1831 in Satara District, Maharashtra. Savitri Bai Phule and her Jyotiba husband established the first Indian girls school in Bhide Wada in Pune in 1848. She is considered the mother of Indian feminism. Savitri Bai Phule died on 10 March 1897 (age 66) due to plague.
In India, women have been considered as second class citizens for a long time. This is the reason that his life was considered limited to cooking and advancing the dynasty.

Social work by Savitribai
Savitribai together with her husband had opened a total of 18 schools. Together, these two people had also opened a care center called Child Abuse Banner Home, in which pregnant women suffering from rape were given the facility to give birth to children and raise their children.
She founded the Mahila Seva Mandal to raise awareness about issues related to women rights. He also campaigned against child marriage and advocated widow remarriage.
Savitri Bai's struggle for education
Savitribai Phule did not like the orthodox people. The school started by him was strongly opposed by the people. When she went to school to teach, people used to put dirty garbage etc. on her roof and used to stone them. Savitribai used to carry a sari in her bag and after reaching school she used to change the dirty sari. But despite so many protests, he continued to teach the girls.
