There was such a revolutionary who, after learning the method of making bombs from Paris, returned to India in 1908 with the 'Bomb Manual' and secretly distributed it among the revolutionaries of the whole country. He used his mechanical engineering degree not to do a job for the British but to teach Indian revolutionaries how to make bombs. After that the revolutionaries of India started raining so many bombs on the British rule that they lost their sleep. This commander became famous by the name of Bapat.
Pandurang Mahadev Bapat was a very important link in the Indian freedom struggle. He came to be known as Senapati for leading the 'Mulashi Satyagraha' in 1921. Enrolling in the Deccan College in Pune proved to be a turning point in his life as it was the place where the seeds of nationalist sentiments had grown in Bapat's mind.
In 1904, after leaving college, Bapat went to England to study after receiving a scholarship. There he started getting involved in revolutionary activities. Once Bapat's scholarship was stopped after the intervention of the British government due to his provocative speech against British rule in India, he went to Paris and started learning to make bombs.
After returning to India, he taught young revolutionaries to make bombs and through 'Poverty in India' written by Dadabhai Naoroji, made the people of the country aware of the exploitation of the Indian economy by the British government. Senapati Bapat also started a movement for boycott of foreign goods by making people aware in the country. Senapati Bapat was so famous for his passionate speech that people came from far and wide to hear him. Not knowing how many youths got influenced by him and jumped into the freedom struggle. Because of his speeches given against the British rule, Senapati Bapat had to go to jail many times but he did not stop opposing the British.
