In the fight for the independence of the country, everyone chose his own ideology which had the most influence on him. Some considered the path of non-violence of Mahatma Gandhi, and some considered the path of Subhas Chandra Bose right. Somebody gave more priority to the way of freedom from social evils before the freedom struggle. In order to break the shackles of slavery, some considered it more necessary to follow the revolutionary path. On this revolutionary path, where the male revolutionaries took on the British, women were also taking their active participation in it. Kalpana Dutt is also one of these women revolutionaries, who fought with the British fearlessly and courageously. She was also awarded the title of "Veer Mahila".
Kalpana got involved in revolutionary activities right from her student life in Calcutta. Joined the organization named "Indian Republican Army" and became a part of the campaign against the British. Several members of the organization were arrested after the members of the Indian Republican Army carried out the "Chittagong Shastra robbing". Then Kalpana planned to blow up the prison's court wall with a bomb to free the people of the organization. They decided to attack the European Club of Chittagong. To carry out the plan, Kalpana had changed her appearance. The police came to know about this plan and Kalpana was arrested. Kalpana was released as the indictment was not proved, but the police's pressure on her increased.
Kalpana had to leave her studies and go back to the village, but despite all this she did not leave the organization. This shows his love for his country. She remained fearless and stood firm on the goal of independence of her country. Kalpana managed to escape by dodging the police and continued the movement underground for two years. In the end, Kalpana was sentenced to life imprisonment. Despite the weak position of women in the society at that time, she stuck to her goal. If the imagination, which always puts the country and its comrades ahead of itself, had thought about itself first, would our freedom struggle get so strong and would we have been free?
