Since childhood, Rajguru had the urge to join Jung-e-Azadi. During his studies in Varanasi, Rajguru came in contact with many revolutionaries. He was so much influenced by Chandrashekhar Azad that his revolutionary party joined the Hindustan Socialist Republican Army. At that time he was only 16 years old. Only at the age of 16, at such a young age, he was thinking about the independence of the country instead of thinking about his career. The purpose of Rajguru was to create fear in the minds of the British officers and to make people aware by roaming around for the independence of the country.
He along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev decided to avenge the death of Lala Lajpat Rai, who died while opposing the Simon Commission. Together with his companions Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev, he worked to open the ears of the deaf British government by throwing bombs in the Central Assembly in Delhi. The fear of Rajguru had overtaken the British administration so much that the police had to run a special operation to catch him. After the murder of the police officer, Rajguru stayed in Nagpur for some time. From there, on his way to Pune, he was arrested by the police and at the age of only 22, he was sentenced to death along with Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev.
After getting the death sentence, Sukhdev became more happy and started laughing at the prisoners. Once a prisoner asked him directly, "Aren't you afraid of death?"
His reply was, "I am proud of what I have done and I have realized this truth only after challenging death. Our death will be meaningful and will be a guide for revolutionaries to come."
He was not afraid of his death. He was proud that he was able to do something for his country because of his determined intentions. Rajguru was proud of his life's work for the country and he happily died for the country.
