The streaming service posted a black and white image of the primary Charles Addams cartoon characters on social media.

With a serious countenance and recognisable braids, Jenna Ortega, who plays the title role, dominates the family. She was accompanied by Isaac Ordonez, who plays her brother Pugsley, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Luis Guzmán, who play Morticia and Gomez.

Charles Addams, a cartoonist, developed Wednesday and the rest of her terrifying family in the 1930s for use as illustrations in The New Yorker. Numerous media adaptations of The Addams Family have appeared over the years, including the 1990s film series starring Christina Ricci as Wednesday. Wednesday was voiced by Chloe Grace Moretz in the 2019 animated feature and its follow-up.

When is Wednesday coming to Netflix?

There have been numerous representations of the Addams Family, but none have ever given sole attention to Wednesday until this point. The most recent information about Netflix's Wednesday, including information about its premiere date, cast, and other details, is available on HollywodLife.

On August 17, Netflix unveiled the primary teaser. Pugsley is harassed at school, so Wednesday plans her retaliation. Wednesday tells a group of lads, "The only person who gets to torture my brother is me," before tossing two bags of piranhas into the water. She is, of course, expelled.

Wednesday is driven to the same school where her parents first met. According to Morticia Addams, her mother, she will "finally" be around classmates who "get" her, Wednesday reports. Along the trip, she encounters many people and eventually decides that she will like Nevermore.

In conjunction with Netflix's Geeked Week, the first official teaser trailer for Wednesday was released on June 6. Fans got their first glimpse of Jenna Ortega as the titular figure through a recently published photo and the video. With her distinctive braided pigtails and black frock with a white collar, Jenna personifies Wednesday. Also briefly visible on Wednesday's left shoulder is Thing.

Release Date for "Wednesday"

Wednesday will make its debut on Netflix in the fall of 2022. The precise month and day have not yet been revealed. There will be eight episodes in the first season, and they will probably all air on the same day. Only Netflix will offer Wednesday for streaming.

Wednesday: The Story Plot

The new series will take a fresh look at this scary girl. Most frequently, we witness her relentlessly torturing her brother Pugsley intellectually. Wednesday would construct horrifying traps, devise horrifying experiments, and basically treat Pugsley like some kind of tortured but oddly compliant test subject. But this show offers far more than simply Wednesday Addams' cunning plans. Typically, The Addams Family's plots are very predictable. They mostly show a glimpse of their peculiar lives. However, some of the most well-liked films have taken unexpected twists that centred on certain characters, such as the 1991 film in which Uncle Fester was covertly replaced by someone who wanted to evict the Addams Family. With respect to Wednesday, that's what we can expect.

The cast and crew of Wednesday

The cast include some outstanding actors, well-known faces from other popular shows, and some Addams Family members from earlier iterations of the show. Jenna Ortega, who played Young Jane on Jane the Virgin, will play Wednesday Addams when she makes a comeback to the big screen. Given her expertise in horror movies like the most recent Scream movie and the Foo Fighters' Studio 666, she is a natural fit for the part.

Naturally, the brilliant Tim Burton is in charge of the direction. Tim Burton is known for being an auteur who develops and directs movies that are spooky and a little odd while still being warm and joyful. He has been described as a lifetime fan of The Addams Family.

Of course, you'll be familiar with his work from Pee-Big Wee's Adventure, Edward Scissorhands, and the more recent adaptations of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland.

Wednesday will also have another name you might recognise: Morticia Addams, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones (The Mask of Zorro, Traffic), who will be appearing opposite Luis Guzman's Gomez (Boogie Nights, Traffic). As always, the romance is sure to be intriguing, and at least the height disparity will be accurate. Pugsley will be played by A Wrinkle in Time's Isaac Ordonez, but sadly, we won't get to see him all that much. Only 2 episodes feature him.

As Thing, Victor Dorobantu, a hand, will make his acting debut. The principal of Nevermore Academy, Larissa Weems, will be played by Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie.

Additionally, Christina Ricci, who gained fame in the 1990s for her role as Wednesday, will make an unnamed appearance on the show.

The TV show will undoubtedly be interesting to watch. Numerous other actors who play characters like Wednesday's classmates or potential competitors are listed on the cast list. Enid Sinclair, Wednesday's roommate, is Emma Myers. Bianca Barclay, a popular youngster and siren, is Joy Sunday. Tyler Galpin, a "townie," is portrayed by Hunter Doohan as Wednesday's pal. Additionally, Naomi Ogawa portrays the well-liked school vampire Yoko Tanaka. Everyone will want to watch this Netflix Halloween special, without a doubt.
