Religion of Kabir Das, A Hindu or Muslim

Kabir Das, the great saint and spiritual poet of India, was born in the year 1440. According to Islam, 'Kabir' means great. There is no evidence of who his real parents were, but he is believed to have been raised in a poor Muslim family. He was found by Neeru and Neema (Rakhwala) from a small town in Varanasi. There is a pond in Sant Kabir Math at Lahartara in Varanasi where Kabir was found by a couple named Neeru and Neema.

This is a great building of peace and true learning where saints from all over the world come for the sake of real education. Kabir's parents were very poor and illiterate but he accepted Kabir wholeheartedly and educated himself about his business. He lived the balanced life of a normal homeowner and a Sufi.

It is believed that in his childhood, he got all his religious education from a guru named Ramanand. And one day he became known as a good disciple of Guru Ramanand. Fellows and students stay in Kabir Das's house to read his great works. It is believed that he got his religious education from Guru Ramanand. Initially Ramananda was not ready to take Kabir Das as his disciple. But a subsequent incident played an important role in making Ramananda a disciple of Kabir. Once upon a time, Saint Kabir was lying on the stairs of the pond and reciting the mantra of Rama-Rama, Ramanand was going to take a bath in the morning and Kabir came under his feet, this made Ramananda realize his mistake and he He was forced to accept Kabir as his disciple. It is believed that Kabir's family still lives in Kabir Chaura, Varanasi.

Hinduism was prejudiced to Kabir Das by his personal devotion to God with no image of Islam, as well as tantrism, such as the prevalent religious nature of that time, Kabir Das was the first Indian saint who coordinated Hinduism and Islam by showing a universal path. Done by both religions. According to Kabir, every life has a relationship with two religious principles (Jivatma and Paramatma). His idea of ​​salvation was that it is a process of uniting these two divine principles.

His magnum opus Bijak is full of poems that illustrate Kabir's general view on religiosity. Kabir's Hindi was as simple and natural as his philosophy. He followed unity in God. He was strongly opposed to idol worship in Hinduism and showed full faith in devotion and Sufi ideas.

All the poems and songs composed by Kabir are present in many languages. Kabir and his followers are named according to their poetic religious hymns such as the Banis and the Boli. His poems in various forms are called sakhi, shloka (words) and dohe (rameni). Sakhi means repeating and remembering the ultimate truth. By remembering, working and contemplating these manifestations, a path of spiritual awakening remains for his followers and Kabir.

Siddhapeeth Kabirchaura Math Mulgadi and its tradition

Kabirchaura Math is home to Mulgadi Saint-Shiromani Kabir Das, a historical work place and meditation place. He is the only saint of his type who is known as "Sab Santan Sartaj". It is believed that just as all the saints have no value without Sant Kabir, similarly the history of humanity without the Kabirchaura Math Mulgadi is valueless. Kabirchaura Math Mulgadi has its own rich tradition and impressive history. It is an adventure school for Kabir as well as all saints. Indian saints of medieval India received their religious education from this place. It has been proved in the history of human tradition that it is not necessary to go to the Himalayas for deep thinking, but it can be done even while living in the society. Kabir Das himself was the ideal indicator of this. He was a true propagator of devotion and also lived a simple life with people like a common man. Instead of worshiping the stone, he showed people the path of independent devotion. History is witness that the tradition here gave respect and recognition to all the saints.

The items used by Kabir and other saints of his tradition are still kept safely in the Kabir Math. Sewing machine, Khadau, Rudraksh garland (received from Ramanand), rust-free trident and used.

Historical well

There is a historical well in the Kabir Math, whose water is believed to be mixed with the nectar of their practice. This was first speculated by the great Pandit Sarbananda from South India. He came here to argue with Kabir and became thirsty. He drank water and asked Kamali the address of Kabir. Kamali told Kabir's address as couplets.

He went to debate with Kabir but he did not accept to argue and accepted his defeat by writing to Sarbananda. Sarbananda came back to his house and showed his confession of defeat to his mother and suddenly he saw that his writing had turned upside down. He was very impressed by this truth and came back to Kabir Math of Kashi and later became a follower of Kabir Das. He was impressed with Kabir to such a level that he never touched any book throughout his life. Later, Sarbananda Acharya became famous like Surtigopal Saheb. He became the head of the Kabir Math after Kabir.

Siddhpeeth Kabirchaura Math is located in the famous cultural city of India known as Mulgadi Varanasi. One can reach here by air, rail or road. It is located 18 km from Varanasi Airport and 3 km from Varanasi Railway Station.

The King of Kashi came here to apologize:

Once upon a time, the King of Kashi King Viradev Singh Judeo had come to Kabir Math with his wife to apologize while leaving his kingdom. The story goes like this: Once the King of Kashi, hearing the great praise of Kabir Das, invited all the saints to his kingdom, Kabir Das reached the king with a small bottle of water. They put all the water of that small bottle on their feet, small amount of water started flowing on the ground for a long time. The whole state was flooded with water, so Kabir was asked about it. He said that a devotee who was cooking in Jagannathpuri had a fire in his hut.

The water I spilled was to save his hut from fire. The fire was very terrible, so more water was needed from a small bottle. But the king and his followers did not accept this and wanted a true witness. He thought that there was a fire in Orissa and water was being poured into Kashi. The king sent one of his followers to investigate it. The follower came and told that what Kabir had said was absolutely true. Raja was very embarrassed for this and decided that he would go to Kabir Math with his wife to apologize. If they do not forgive, they will commit suicide there. He got forgiveness there and from that time King Kabir joined the monastery forever.

Samadhi Temple:

The Samadhi Mandir is built where Kabir Das often used to do his sadhana. The journey from Samadhi to Sadhana has been completed for all the saints here. Since that day, this is the place where saints feel the flow of excessive energy. It is a world famous place of peace and energy. It is believed that after his death, people started quarreling over the funeral of his body. But when the door of the Samadhi room was opened, there were only two flowers which were distributed among his Hindu and Muslim followers for the last rites. The Samadhi Mandir is constructed from the thick stone of Mirzapur.

Bijak Temple on Kabir platform

This place was the work place of Kabir Das and was also a place of meditation. This is the place where Kabir taught devotion, knowledge, karma and humanity to his followers. This place was named Kabir Chabutra. Bijak was the great creation of Kabir Das, that's why Kabir Chabutara was named Bijak Mandir.

Kabir Das was a devotional and Sufi saint of medieval India on a large scale for his devotional movement in North India. His life cycle was at the center of Kashi (also known as Banaras or Varanasi). He was associated with the weaver business because of his parents and was a caste weaver. His vast contribution to the Bhakti movement is considered as a pioneer in India along with Namdev, Ravidas, and Farid. He was a saint of mixed spiritual nature (Nath tradition, Sufism, devotion) which makes him unique. He has said that the path of hardship is true life and love.

In the 15th century, Varanasi was strongly organized by Brahmin piety, along with learning centers in all areas of people's lives. As he belonged to a low caste weaver, Kabir Das worked hard in propagating his ideas. He never used to discriminate among people whether he belongs to prostitutes, low or high caste. He used to preach to everyone together with his own followers. He was ridiculed by the Brahmins for his teachings, but they never used to do evil to him, that is why Kabir was very much liked by the common people. He had started taking the mind of the common people towards the real truth of life through his doho.

He was always opposed to ritualistic and ascetic methods as a means of salvation. He said that the red color of goodness is more important than the red color of loved ones. According to him, one heart of goodness encompasses the prosperity of the whole world. A person is strengthened with mercy, forgiveness is his real existence, and with right one attains a never ending life. Kabir said that God is in your heart and will always be with you. So worship them internally. He changed the mind of the people with one of his examples that if the journeyman is not able to walk, then what will do the way for the traveler.

He opened the eyes of the people and taught them the real lesson of humanity, morality and righteousness. He was a follower and preacher of non-violence. He changed the minds of the people of his time with his revolutionary speeches. There is no strong evidence of Kabir's birth and real family. Some say that he was born in a Muslim family, and some say that he was from a high-class Brahmin family. After his death, there was a dispute among Hindus and Muslims over his funeral. His life history is famous and yet teaches people the lessons of true humanity.

Religion of Kabir Das

According to Kabir Das, the only way to live life is the real religion that people live and not the people who create it themselves. According to him, karma is worship and responsibility is religion. He used to say live your life, fulfill your responsibility and work hard to make your life eternal. Never go away from your responsibilities like ascetics in life. He has appreciated and valued family life which is the real meaning of life. It is also mentioned in the Vedas that leaving home and living life is not the real religion. Living as a householder is also a great and real renunciation. For example, who live a family life, work hard for their livelihood and also worship God.

Kabir gave a clear fact to the people that what is the religion of humanity which one should adopt. His teachings thus helped people to understand the mystery of their lives.

Kabir Das: A Hindu or Muslim

It is believed that after the death of Kabir Das, Hindus and Muslims submitted their claims to get his body. People of both religions wanted to cremate Kabir according to their customs and tradition. The Hindus said that they were Hindus, so they wanted to burn their bodies, while the Muslims said that Kabir was a Muslim, so he wants to bury them.

But when those people removed the sheet from Kabir's body, they found that some flowers were lying there. They divided the flowers among themselves and performed the last rites of the great Kabir with their own customs. It is also believed that when the two communities were fighting among themselves, the soul of Kabir Das came and said that "I am neither a Hindu nor I am a Muslim." There is no Hindu or Muslim here. I am both, I am nothing, and am all. I see God in both. For them, Hindus and Muslims are one which is free from its misinterpretation. Remove the screen and see the magic ”.

Kabir Das's temple is built on the Kabir Square in Kashi which has become famous as a big pilgrimage center for India as well as for foreign tourists. A mosque has been built by Muslims at his tomb which has become a place of pilgrimage for Muslims.

God of Kabir Das

Kabir's Guru Ramanand named him Lord Rama as Guru Mantra, which he interpreted in his own way. He was devoted to Nirguna Bhakti rather than Saguna Bhakti like his Guru. His Rama was the absolute pure Sachdananda, not the son of Dasaratha or the king of Ayodhya as he said "Born in the house of Dasaratha, e Chala Maya Kinha". He was more influenced by Buddha and Siddha than Islamic tradition. According to him, "Bhaiya chanting Nirguna Naam, Avigati ki lakti lakhi na jaiya".

He never differentiated between Allah or Rama, Kabir always preached to people that God is one, but the name is different. They say that there should be a religion of love and brotherhood among people without any lower and higher caste or class. Devote and surrender yourself to a God who has no religion. He always relied on karma in life.

Death of Kabir Das

The 15th-century Sufi poet Kabir Das is believed to have chosen his own place of death, Maghar, which is 240 km from the city of Lucknow. In those days, he had chosen this place to remove the myth from the minds of the people. In those days, it was believed that anyone who died in Maghar would become a monkey in the next life and at the same time he would not find a place in heaven. Kabir Das died in Maghar instead of Kashi only because he wanted to go there and break the superstition and myth of the people. According to the Hindu calendar in 1575 Vikram Samvat, he said goodbye to the world in Maghar in the month of January in the year 1518 of Magh Shukla Ekadashi. It is also believed that whoever dies in Kashi goes directly to heaven, that is why Hindus go to Kashi in their last time to attain salvation. Kabir Das died outside Kashi to dispel a myth. There is a special statement attached to it that "What Kabir Kashi Mueto Rame Kaun Nihora" means that if the way to heaven was so easy then what is the need to worship.

The teachings of Kabir Das are extensive and equal for all as they did not discriminate among Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and any other religions. Maghar has both the tomb and mausoleum of Kabir Das. After the death of Kabir, people of Hindu and Muslim religion clashed for their last rites. But when the sheet was removed from his dead body, there were some flowers which were distributed among the people of both communities and then cremated Kabir ji according to their own religion.
 
A few meters from the mausoleum is a cave which indicates their place of meditation before death. A trust is running in his name, namely the Kabir Research Institute, which is a research institute for publicizing research on the works of Kabir Das. There is also an educational institute which also incorporates the teaching of Kabir Das.

Kabir Das: A Sufi Saint

Kabir Das, one of the main spiritual poets in India, was a great Sufi saint who gave his philosophical ideas to publicize people's lives. His philosophy that God is one and karma is the real religion left a deep impression on the minds of the people. His love and devotion towards God fulfilled the idea of ​​Hindu devotion and Muslim Sufi.

It is believed that he belonged to the Hindu Brahmin family but was adopted by the Muslim family of children, Neeru and Neema. He was found by his parents on a large lotus leaf in a pond in Lahartara, Kashi. At that time there was a lot of disagreement between the orthodox Hindu and Muslim people, which was the main focus of Kabir Das to resolve those issues through his couplets.

He never sat in the classroom professionally but he was a very knowledgeable and spiritual person. Kabir wrote his couplets in formal language which was well spoken at that time which included Braj, period and Bhojpuri. He wrote a lot of couplet and story books based on social bonds.
