She was a female freedom fighter who is also known and known as "Jhansi ki Rani Lakshmibai" of Travancore in South India. Akkamma Cherian, who made this identity, was from Kerala, who gave a tough competition to the British with her valor and courage. She has been a brave and courageous female freedom fighter.
After completing her education, she worked as a teacher in an English school but left teaching to join the freedom struggle. People made many sacrifices for the country. If she wanted, she would have continued to do her work, but she thought of the interest of the people of the country and made a conch shell for Jung-e-Azadi. To bring the people of Travancore under control, the Diwan of Travancore imposed some restrictions. After this the Civil Disobedience Movement started. Many leaders and presidents were put in jail. Whoever became president one after the other would be thrown in jail. The 11th President appointed Akkamma as the President after him.
The Akkama, wearing a khadi cap, carrying a flag, led a massive public rally to get the ban revoked. The agitating crowd demanded the dismissal of the Diwan. The British police chief ordered to set fire to this rally of more people than his soldiers. Akkamma Cherian cried out, "I am the leader of this tally, shoot me before you kill others." His bold words forced the police officers to withdraw their orders. Hearing the news, Mahatma Gandhi honored her as the Rani of Jhansi of Travancore. Such is the spirit of patriotism, sacrificing everything, walking on a difficult thorny path and being ready to die for the benefit of the country and the countrymen. They did all this not only for power but for this country.
