General Mohan Singh was an Indian military officer. He was also the most important character of the Indian independence movement. He is best known for his role in organizing and leading the first Indian National Army in South-East Asia during World War II. During World War II and the Japan conflict, Giani Pritam Singh and Major Fujihara (Japanese officer) requested Mohan Singh to form an Indian army.
At the beginning of World War II, Mohan Singh was the captain of the Punjab Battalion of the British Indian Army fighting in Burma, he was defeated in Jitra and taken into custody by the Japanese forces. General Fujihara of Japan was surprised that the people who showed valor and valor in the war on behalf of the British were Indians who were kept as their slaves by the British. The General of Japan got Mohan Singh to meet the Director of the Ghadar Party. He explained the whole situation to Mohan Singh. Mohan Singh understood the whole thing, the glasses mounted on his eyes went away. The spirit of rebellion came in the mind of Mohan Singh. As a result, Mohan Singh, who had so far fought on the side of the British, raised the flag of struggle against them and decided to form an army of Indian prisoners of war, which was named 'Indian National Army'. Fujihara handed over about 40,000 Indian soldiers to Mohan Singh. Initially, only Indian soldiers captured by Japan were taken in it, later Indian volunteers based in Burma and Malaya were also recruited in it. Thus the foundation stone of the Indian National Army was laid. It was later called Azad Hind Fauj and handed over to Netaji. That is why the name of Mohan Singh must come in the category of freedom fighters who contributed in the freedom struggle. It is love for the country that no one can play with the feelings of a patriot in the name of the country. They are always ready to give befitting reply.
