Courageous and interested in sports since childhood, Kesari Chand was full of leadership qualities and patriotism. Early in his life, he joined the British Army. Kesari could have lived a comfortable life after joining the British Army, but he joined the 'Azad Hind Sena' inspired by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose's slogan "You give me blood, I will give you freedom". Turned down his job in the British Army. Instead of shooting at his countrymen, he thought it better to shoot for the countrymen.
Due to his indomitable courage, Kesari was assigned the risky task of bombing a bridge in Imphal (Manipur) to stop the supply of supplies to the British army, but he was arrested by the police. He was tried for conspiracy against the British Empire and sentenced to death. For Kesari's death sentence to be pardoned, his father also took the help of lawyers.
Once during the trial, the judge gave Kesari a chance and said, "If you write an apology, we will release you." But Kesari said with great fear, "I will die for Mother India but I will never apologize to the British government."
Hearing this, the judge was stunned and Veer Kesari was hanged at the age of just 24. When Veer Kesari saw his passing family before being hanged, he laughed and said to them, "I am sacrificing my life for Mother India, so don't cry. This is not a day of sorrow, but of rejoicing."
