Udmi Ram

The revolution of 1857 was not limited only to the military rebellion, but hundreds of common people, fed up with the British rule, participated in it and contributed in every way, big or small. One such revolutionist was Udi Ram.

Udami Ram had neither any army nor resources. He prepared a group of 22 young friends around him to fight the British. They were all laborers and farmers. His team was always ready to hide the British officers. All of them used to have their traditional weapons like sticks, jellies, Gandasi, axes, axes etc., from which they used to attack the British officers passing through GT Road through Delhi and put them to death.

One day, Udmi Ram, along with his companions, ambushed a British officer and killed him. At that time the officer's wife was also there, but Udmi Ram considered it a sin to raise his hand on her and left her with respect to a woman's house.

After this incident, a traitor in the greed of money informed the British police about it. The police surrounded Udmi Ram's village from all sides. Udami Ram along with his comrades fought the English soldiers for a long time with their traditional weapons like sticks, Gandasi, Farse etc. Ultimately, Udami Rama and his comrades had to face defeat in front of the soldiers armed with modern weapons. Many revolutionaries were captured, many were killed on the spot and many managed to escape. Realizing the urgency of the occasion, Udmi Ram, the hero of the revolutionaries, was forced to hide in the nearby fields.

After this the English police started beating the people of the village mercilessly. Seeing this, without caring about the consequences, Udmi Ram left the fields fearlessly and walked towards the village chaupal. As they entered the village they encountered two English soldiers and Udami Ram put them to death with his jelly. After this they reached the village with blood-stained jelly. Seeing this fierce form of Udmiram, the British soldiers present in the Chaupal were completely stunned. The British soldiers gathered courage and suddenly Udmi fell on Ram and took him hostage.

After this, the British hammered Udmi Ram and his wife into the peepal tree with nails and got Udmi Ram's friends crushed under a crusher stone. Udmi Ram along with his comrades became martyr for the country but his martyrdom inspired thousands of youth to participate in the freedom struggle.
