Vasudev Balwant Phadke

Vasudev Balwant Phadke After the first freedom struggle of 1857, when the freedom struggle of India started coming into the hands of the common people, one of the first heroes of this was Vasudev Balwant Phadke Phadke, who was the hero who helped the poor to overthrow the chains of slavery. He raised a whole army of peasants, laborers and youth and kept the British in the nose for years.

Phadke used to work as a clerk in the English government. once upon a time. His mother was very ill. She wanted to meet her son before she died but the British officer refused to give Phadke leave. They went home the next day without leave but it was so late that they could not even meet their mother at the last minute. After this incident, he understood what slavery is and he took a vow that at any cost, he would take freedom from this slavery.

He prepared an army of 300 such youth, who were ready to lay down their lives for the country. He along with his team went to the villages suffering from famine and made a list of farmers there. Then they made a list of the collection centers of the British government's money and attacked those centers with their local armed forces and looted them. Like Robin Hood, Vasudev used to distribute all the money among the poor after taking out the money for the expenses of his army. In the eyes of the British government, Vasudev had become a god for the countrymen facing the exploitation of the dacoits and the British.

Phadke also captured Poona, the city that was once the capital of the Peshwas. For several days the British army could not remove them from Poona. When this news reached England, the British announced a huge amount on his seat. A traitor got lured by this reward and made Phadke an informer. Phadke was arrested but not a single witness could be found against him in the court. Phadke had a habit of writing the entire account of the looted money in a diary. Those diaries somehow got in the hands of a British officer and the British were also stunned by reading Phadke's exploits. Whom the British thought was just a dacoit, he was engaged in a plan to overthrow the British from India itself.

Phadke was sentenced to life imprisonment but escaped from the jail. After some time the English arrested him again. After being caught, he started a hunger strike in jail. Due to this hunger strike, Vasudev Balwant Phadke said goodbye to this world. What was the passion of patriotism, which, even after such a long hunger strike, could not even touch the fear of death and finally gave his life in the love of patriotism.
